A mess of new behind the scenes photo of Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick as Chuck and Blair on the set of Gossip Girl have been release this past week. YUM!
The CW will kick off its fall campaign on Sept. 8 with the sophomore year of “90210″ and the bow of “Melrose Place.”
Net has also decided to flop the time slots of its Monday dramas, which will send “Gossip Girl” to the 9 p.m. hour.
It’s the second year in a row that “90210″ is the centerpiece of the net’s fall launch campaign, and CW is hoping that anticipation will be high for the remodeled “Melrose.” CW is getting a jumpstart on its competish by launching the week of Sept. 8, but it won’t be quite as quick out of the gate as last year, when the net’s fall sked launched on Labor Day.
The rollout continues Sept. 9 with the two-hour preem of “America’s Next Top Model,” followed Sept. 10 by the preem of “Vampire Diaries” and return of “Supernatural.”
The Monday slate returns on Sept. 14, though the “Gossip Girl”-”One Tree Hill” slot swap will take effect July 6 with repeat segs.
The regular Wednesday slate of “Top Model” and newbie drama “A Beautiful Life” arrives on Sept. 16. CW also confirmed to its affiliate stations this month that it will give back one hour of its two-hour Monday-Friday daytime block as of the 2010-11 season. At present it programs the 3-5 p.m. block with yakker “The Tyra Banks Show,” one original and one repeat seg. As of 2010-11, it will return the 4-5 p.m. hour to affiliates.
New York Post talked to the girls of Gossip Girl, Melrose Place and 90210 about what’s in store for their shows and characters:
Yesterday, the stars from every CW show under the sun hit NYC for the network’s 2009 upfront presentation (where all their new and returning series are pimped out for advertisers).Thankfully, there was a premiere-worthy red carpet (even though it was green) preceding the presentation where the casts of “Gossip Girl,” 90210″ and the new “Melrose Place” reboot talked profusely about their shows.
Spoilers spewed forth from their mouths, including one that’s too juicy to print — it has to do with Sydney Andrews’ return to her old stomping grounds!
Leighton Meester talks to MTV about Chuck and Blair, at the TheCW Upfront:
Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass have always had a very passionate and tumultuous relationship on “Gossip Girl.” With season two ending with Chuck traveling the world to collect treasures for Blair to prove he cares for her, it does seem that, at least for now, these two are trying to make it work.
“I mean, that’s pretty romantic. I think he knows now what he wants. They’re done with high school, so any drama associated with that is sort of gone,” Leighton Meester (a.k.a. Blair) told MTV News. “I mean, I think I’m pretty satisfied with what happened. I was really happy when I knew they kind of ended up together at the end of this season.”
But Meester also warned fans that although things seem great in the world of Blair and Chuck, that doesn’t mean they’ll have a picture-perfect ending: “It’s still kind of a cliffhanger ’cause … every other episode they’re back [together], they’re not, they’re back. But now I feel like it’s more official and he’s willing to admit his feelings and she is too. That’s a relationship I really like a lot.”
She added that the couple have a “fun dynamic.” “Them together just seems so real. I mean, he loves her,” she said. “The point is you love to hate him. You hate to love him. And he’s such a very definitive character and he’s always changing too. He’s awesome.”
So, if things don’t work out again between Blair and Chuck, what guy would she want to see with her? Well, none! “Every time she breaks up with Chuck I don’t want to see her with anybody. They’re never actually broken up; she still pines over him. I think, from my point of view, a tumultuous relationship is an unhealthy one, and for them to be together it’s going to take work. But they might just fight and break up and get back together. They seem like that kind of couple.”
She may not know what will happen with Chuck, but she does have some predictions about her own character. “I don’t think Blair’s losing her queen-bee status just yet,” she said, adding that she would like to see her lose something else. “I think we might retire the headbands. … To me, it’s always been where she’s at in her life. Maybe she’ll start wearing them to regress.”

On the fitting green carpet at the CW upfront this morning, Leighton Meester couldn’t wait to share her thoughts on the future of Chuck and Blair, and Blake Lively weighed in on Georgina’s return.

When last we saw them, Chuck was showering Blair with her favorite treats and, more importantly, finally saying those three little words. But alas, can Bluck really work in the real world?
“Chuck and Blair holding hands, Chuck and Blair going to the movies—isn’t that what he says would be unrealistic?” Meester tells us. “I feel like a tumultuous relationship is a-brewin’, but that’s what drama is.”
The actress herself, who recently went blonde for a movie but promised to go back to brunette ASAP, says she isn’t sure what she hopes will come for the couple.
“I want us to see them together, but at the same time, the reason why they’re so good is why they can’t be together,” she says.
Unfortunately, both Blake and Leighton agree that Georgina’s return could cast a long shadow over Chuck and Blair’s future.
“Chuck and Blair are finally together, but yet Georgina is back to screw up her life with that major vendetta,” Lively tells us.
The Gossip Girl spin-off is still a GO! TheCW president, Dawn Ostroff confirms:
It was the toughest year we’ve ever had, figuring out what to pick up, because [our pilots] were all really, really good. We do have room for another midseason show. In all honesty, I think the Gossip Girl spinoff is the show that we would love to be able to find a place for as the season goes on.
A network insider says the spin-off will center around the younger lives of Blake Lively and Penn Badgely’s on-screen parents, played by Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle.
“The show will focus on the early romance between Lily and Rufus,” says the insider. “It begins when they first meet, during a time when Rufus and his band are at the height of their career. The show will follow the high society and rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle in New York.”
And GG fans need not worry! The source denies rumors that an original cast member will be leaving the show to join the spin-off. Instead, “two new actors will be hired to play the young Lily and Rufus. Producers are planning to introduce the new couple during a flashback scene in an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl.”
The insider adds the new show is slated to start filming in February.
GAWD, there’s just something about an English man doing an American accents that’s soooo unbelievability sexy! Completely random, but Ed Westwick would make a very pretty Vampire!

Gossip Girl shippers are in panic over news of Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr being catch sucking face at a Dallas airport yesterday. The report comes from the Wmagazine :
“This just in: Another one of W’s spies also happened to be stuck in the Dallas airport yesterday with the Gossip Girl threesome And he swears to us that after the pals finished up at Chilis Too, he saw Jessica Szohr and Ed Westwick flirting and — yes indeed! — kissing. “Definitely on the lips,” he says. “Not a French kiss, but a smooch definitely. They were being very flirty when people were not paying attention.”
Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) shippers are hoping that this new real life development doesn’t inspire the writers of Gossip Girl to pair Ed and Jessica’s fictional characters on the series. Who believe or not, do have a following online as well!
