THE SKINNY: At the tail end of this winter’s television critic’s event, Rob Thomas, who has resurrected his 1998 TV series CUPID for another go-around on ABC, announced that he’s currently working on a VERONICA MARS feature film (based on his short-lived UPN/CW show), now that his new series order has been reduced from thirteen episodes to eight episodes.

“That means I have time to write the VERONICA MARS movie,” he says. “But my writing the movie is half the battle. Someone else has to pay for it. Joel Silver does have a certain pile of money. He called on me saying ‘Can we do this now?’ Kristen wants to do it. Joel wants to do it and I want to do it. For me, that’s the next project.”

Although he wouldn’t reveal exactly what the story would be, he did tell iF, “it’s 70 percent broken in my head.”

“I’ve been struggling with this one plot point and I’m hopeful to figure that out,” he adds. “I watched the final episode of the series a few weeks ago and there were a lot of gaps and the plotting for the original came to me. I mean for the movie, I’m feeling like I’m on the right track now. But I don’t want to give that away yet.

In terms of cast, Thomas says he’s talked with Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni and Kristen Bell.

“Obviously,” he says with a smile.

And while there were always talks of the character of Veronica Mars ending up at the F.B.I., he says that’s not where the movie will be heading.

“The one thing that I will say is where it will pick up,” says Thomas. “I know we did that F.B.I. ‘what if’ thing, but we would not go to that place. I think it would open just days before the Hearst College Graduation. So Veronica would be sort of at the end of her college career.

Looks like all the main pairings from the first film back in the 4th installment of The Fast and the Furious, titled Fast and Furious. Seriously though, they need to get a bit more creative with these series film titles.

My Bloody Valentine 3D sounds like a really bizarre romance comedy title… or a title for a horror film, either one. I haven’t seen this film yet, even though it released this past weekend…but going by the film’s summary, it sounds romantic! :p

As it’s no surprise to those who actually do take the time to visit this site, Clark and Lana from Smallville are by far my all time favorite TV ship, so excuse my excitement towards them… Anywhooo, new trailer to this week’s Smallville:

After watching this video for the 5th time, not only did I feel dirty watching a video of a 16 year old boy showing off his abs, but I came to the realization once New Moon hits theaters, the Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) posters will be falling off of fangirl’s bedroom walls to make room for Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner)!

Slumdog Millionaire snagged four Golden Globes this past Sunday for — Best Director, Best Motion Picture, Best Original Score and Best Screenplay, well deserved!

I watched this film for the first time the other day and it was pretty darn amazing and a breath of fresh air!

Summary:

The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India’s “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Fox has officially put Prison Break to sleep. This season will be the last and finale season of the series!

“The show just played out,” says Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly. “Creatively everybody feels enough stories were told … we want it to finish strong and not just gimp out next season.”

“Prison” has four more episodes set to air, and might shoot a could extra series-ending episodes as well.

“They have a cool ending,” Reilly reassured.
