Last Chance Harvey

Filed under: Film Worth Shipping, Romance — Tags: , , — Shipper @ 9:03 pm

Film Summary:

New Yorker Harvey Shine is on the verge of losing his dead-end job as a jingle writer. Warned by his boss that he has just one more chance to deliver, Harvey goes to London for a weekend to attend his daughter’s wedding but promises to be back on Monday morning to make an important meeting–or else. Harvey arrives in London only to learn his daughter has chosen to have her stepfather walk her down the aisle instead of him. Doing his best to hide his devastation, he leaves the wedding before the reception in hopes of getting to the airport on time, but misses his plane anyway. When he calls his boss to explain, he is fired on the spot. Drowning his sorrows at the airport bar, Harvey strikes up a conversation with Kate, a slightly prickly, 40-something employee of the Office of National Statistics. Kate, whose life is limited to work, the occasional humiliating blind date and endless phone calls from her smothering mother, is touched by Harvey, who finds himself energized by her intelligence and compassion. The growing connection between the pair inspires both as they unexpectedly transform one another’s lives.

The Heart Will go on and on and on!

Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio are featured on the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and the featured interview with both of them is just too adorable!

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Please — people have been wanting to see you two back together for over a decade. How scared were you to mess with that original magic?
LEONARDO DICAPRIO: Over the years, I would find myself stopping and saying, ”I don’t know if we should do this again.” And then I’d think, ”What are you, an idiot? Why wouldn’t I want to work with the best actress of her generation? Am I going to be prejudiced against a project just because Kate’s in it?” I think we both had been actively looking for something else to do together, but we fundamentally knew that we couldn’t tread on any sort of similar territory.

Which eliminates what?
DICAPRIO: Any type of love story imaginable. [Laughs]
WINSLET: Known to mankind!
DICAPRIO: So what we have here is a profoundly well-written, character-driven story about the dissolving of a relationship. Certainly in Kate’s character there’s that great pursuit not to have her life be predigested —
WINSLET: Predetermined.
DICAPRIO: Yes, better word. You’re right. Good one.
WINSLET: [Gagging] Oh, we’re so cute, we finish each other’s sentences. Cutesy, cutesy!

Gossip Girl Spin-Off!

From Star:

A network insider says the spin-off will center around the younger lives of Blake Lively and Penn Badgely’s on-screen parents, played by Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle.

“The show will focus on the early romance between Lily and Rufus,” says the insider. “It begins when they first meet, during a time when Rufus and his band are at the height of their career. The show will follow the high society and rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle in New York.”

And GG fans need not worry! The source denies rumors that an original cast member will be leaving the show to join the spin-off. Instead, “two new actors will be hired to play the young Lily and Rufus. Producers are planning to introduce the new couple during a flashback scene in an upcoming episode of Gossip Girl.”

The insider adds the new show is slated to start filming in February.

New face for Team Jacob?

From EW.com:

With or without Hardwicke, Summit faces other snags. Two sources tell EW the studio doesn’t want to rehire baby-faced Taylor Lautner as Jacob, though Lautner’s agent has apparently reached out to the imaging company behind The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in an attempt to demonstrate to Summit how a digitally bulked-up Lautner could work. (Summit says it won’t make a decision until a new filmmaker is on board.) There’s also the matter of finding a cast of Native American actors to play Jacob’s werewolf clan — a difficult challenge Hardwicke was also faced with before settling on Lautner, who isn’t completely Native American. And with a slightly increased budget of $50 million — much of which is assumed will go to leads asking for heftier paydays, location shoots in Italy, and ramped-up F/X — Summit will have to scrimp somewhere.

So um… will Team Jacob still remain the same even without baby-face Taylor?

Robert’s Traits Kristen Likes…

In Twilight you work with Robert Pattinson who plays a character described as “the most beautiful guy in the world.” Do you agree?
I find Rob to be a beautiful man. Objectively speaking (laughs). He has a beautiful soul too.

Is it true Rob is quite shy?
Yeah, a little bit. He’s very unassuming. He’s so tall and imposing, but very sweet. It’s funny to see Rob playing the most beautiful guy on the planet because he is such a down-to-earth person. He’s not pretty, that’s the thing. He’s not delicate looking. He’s very strong looking. Put it this way, he’s not the sort of guy who would go home and stare at a mirror.

Is Rob the kind of guy you would usually like to date?
Rob? Ummmm, I don’t really have a specific guy.

What’s a trait that a guy has to have for you to be interested in him?
I like a guy who looks like they’re thinking about something. Rob is definitely that type of guy. I’m always like, “What are you thinking about?”
